Angela Stephens-Hartman was raised in Bardstown, KY where she began studying piano at the age of nine. She began playing in church on a regular basis when she was in junior high. Angela later went on to study music at Campbellsville University where she won the piano scholarship for incoming freshman. She graduated in 1999 with a B.A. in church music with a piano emphasis.
One week after graduation, Angela married her college sweetheart, Andy Hartman. They moved to Louisville in August of 1999 where they began their new lives together.
Since moving to Louisville, Angela has taught piano at Bader Music Village, Louisville Academy of Music and Ursuline School of Performing Arts. In 2002, Angela started her own piano studio out of her home with 12 students. Now her business has grown to almost 50 students of all ages and walks of life.
Along with teaching, Angela is the music leader at Midlane Park Baptist where she leads the adult choir and plans the weekly services. She is also a member of MTNA and the Greater Louisville Music Teacher Association.
Her hobbies include scrapbooking, reading, investing in real estate, gardening, long walks, playing golf, home improvement, cooking and spending time with friends.
